Additional, testing done by an Independent Laboratory: BioVir Laboratories.
Here are actual test results for our product:
Nowhere, does our competitor state where or if they do any testing, their claims are all theory with no practical application.
Our competitor is trying to refute our testing by stating that their housing is larger and the numbers differ because the radiometer was placed so much further away. In reality there is only .5 inch difference in the housing size between the Aqua Ultraviolet® Unit and theirs. However, in comparison, there is far more Ultraviolet output in the Aqua Ultraviolet® Unit.
Aqua Ultraviolet® has designed its UV for performance, power, and reliability. The 2” inlet/outlet with a 2” body were designed for maximum UV potency. Even our competitor agrees with this: “ The Aqua Ultraviolet® 25 Watt UV has a 2” diameter housing that will inexplicably position the radiometer’s sensor probe closer to their UV lamp, than with our 3” diameter UV housing. Obviously the intensity reading of their lamp will be higher.” In short our intelligently designed body has more UV output to kill the bacteria and protozoa that flows through the entire housing, not just the competitors “Exposure Area”, which is larger so therefore the UV potency gets weaker further from the lamp.
We at Aqua Ultraviolet® took our testing a step further in anticipation of our competitor saying that the reason for the substantial increase of Ultraviolet output is because our diameter is much smaller (let’s be real, this is not even mathematical .5 inch difference, double the output). We put our lamp and electronics in the competitor's housing and their lamp and electronics in our housing and the results were still that Aqua Ultraviolet® lamps produced far more UV output then that of the competitor's in either housing.
Aqua Ultraviolet® ozone producing lamps are the highest quality lamps available and out perform standard lamps. Remember, it is not just the lamp but also the integration of design, years of experience and quality components that allow us to achieve a greater UV output.

Aqua Ultraviolet® positions the lamps in our units to optimize the UV dosage throughout the water chamber, that is why our units have higher flow rates, higher kill rates and overall higher performance.
Aqua Ultraviolet® 's units integrate the highest quality quartz, lamp, transformer and housing design to deliver maximum performance. We match the lamp with the transformer giving you longer lamp life and maximizing UV intensity.
Aqua Ultraviolet® uses 30,000 µw/cm² for our flow rates, based on the end of lamp life, not the beginning. Aqua Ultraviolet® flow rates were designed for the “what if” factor, which compensates for inadequate biological or mechanical filtration and pump systems.
We don’t slow your flow rates down to accommodate dirty green water; we eliminate it.
EZ-Twist Top – easy quartz sleeve maintenance
We were the first with our EZ twist top developed in the ‘90’s, comprised of 3 pieces, which allows you to maintain the quartz sleeve without disturbing the unit’s seals. Our competitor now advertises that they have an easy to remove UV lamp and quartz sleeve assembly, which is comprised of 7 parts. Not truly easier.

The EPA™ guidelines on wipers, section A3.4 Cleaning Systems (EPA™ 815-D-03-007) states, “due to the fouling on the lamp sleeves, cleaning the external surface of sleeves is important to maintain dosage.” In industries such as water purification, food preparation and industrial applications wipers are a requirement.
As a solution we offer wipers as an option, which allow you to clean the quartz sleeve without dismantling the unit.
Our competitor did not read the part in the EPA™ guidelines about wipers when they stated that their quartz assembly “eliminates the need for inefficient wipers”. And guess what? While their web site still says “inefficient wipers”, they now have copied our design and offer units with wipers.

EA makes many inaccurate claims about our power supply. The fact is, all of their comments are based on a five-year-old model. Through our constant innovation, testing and input from our customers, we are continually improving our design based on the latest technology.
Our competitorr states that we do not have remote power supplies with our units, Wrong, they are standard with all of our units.
Our competitor states that they “positions the power supply away from the UV body, protecting it from water damage caused by quartz sleeve failure.” However, they expose their starter to water damage because they cannot pot it. Potting the starter bulb will damage it. Aqua Ultraviolet® protects our starter bulbs, in units that require them, by placing them in the remote power supply.
Aqua Ultraviolet’s power supply is watertight and its design allows for the UV lamp to be removed without disturbing the flow of water through the UV body.
Aqua Ultraviolet® transformers can be repaired, unlike the competitors' “potted power supply”, which cannot be repaired and must be completely replaced in the event of failure.
As a courtesy to our customers, Aqua Ultraviolet will customize any length power cord to meet your design needs. Unless specified we ship our units with a 15 foot power cord.
